Qextron Nexus Dial Out Remote Inquiry Capability Using its inherent modem communications capabilities, Nexus allows the optional use of a computer data terminal to originate calls to other computers. It will interface with a wide variety of terminals via a standard RS-232 serial port. In addition, the Nexus also features an optional IrDA (infrared) port providing a wireless data link designed to communicate with portable data terminals such as a Palm Pilot. A typical application for this would be to provide access to the lab's LIS computer to obtain the latest results data. The data could then be displayed and optionally printed.
